In 2026, the City of Ouray will commemorate 150 years of history, community, and mountain heritage with a yearlong series of special events. The sesquicentennial celebration honors the many stories that have shaped Ouray — from the Ute Tribes who first inhabited this land to the miners and settlers who established a town in the rugged San Juan Mountains. To mark this milestone, the City of Ouray will host a free anniversary concert featuring Colorado rock legends Big Head Todd and the Monsters, with an opening performance by Hazel Miller & The Collective.

Formed in Colorado in the 1980s, rock legends Big Head Todd and the Monsters are known for their blues-infused sound and enduring hits including “Bittersweet,” “Broken Hearted Savior,” and “Circle.”  Opening the evening, Hazel Miller & The Collective bring powerhouse soul, jazz, and blues, led by the legendary Colorado vocalist known for her electrifying stage presence. These performances will serve as the centerpiece of a milestone celebration honoring 150 years of Ouray’s history.

The City of Ouray’s 150th Committee is working in partnership with Mountain Air Music, Inc. to support the anniversary concert. A large group of local volunteers are working behind the scenes and at the front line of the show to bring our local citizens and visitors a high quality, safe and family-friendly event. We also thank the City of Ouray, Visit Ouray, Alpine Bank, the Twin Peaks Hotel and Hot Springs and the Western Colorado Community Foundation for supporting this concert with their sponsorship.
